What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a dynamic profession, which uses a range of treatment techniques to restore movement and function within the body. Physiotherapy may be defined as the method of services offered through physical agencies which includes Manual therapy, Electro therapy, Hydrotherapy, Exercise therapy etc.
Physiotherapy as a profession (Scope & Job Prospects)
The completion of the bachelors’ degree course in physiotherapy opens up multiple avenues for further studies. The undergraduate students are eligible for masters in physiotherapy in India and abroad countries like UK, Australia and New Zealand.
They are eligible to do DPT (Doctorate in physiotherapy) in USA. Apart from this students can also pursue in varied streams like M.Sc Anatomy, Physiology, Postgraduate diploma in sports sciences, hospitals administration etc. It has become a part and parcel of any hospitals to have a full fledged physiotherapy department opening up many job vacancies both as clinical physiotherapists and as academic faculty, Physiotherapists are very important member of the rehabilitation team. They extend their professional skill to various voluntary organizations in India and also to the ones managed by the UN.
